We bought our house from Bruce Smith of J.K. Smith Builders, Inc. when it was in the beginning stages, just being framed. We were able to choose the paint, flooring, cabinets and fixtures to make the home our own. We were encouraged from the very beginning to drop by at any time to see how things were progressing and we did that quite often. When we stopped by there was always something going on and everyone was always very professional and friendly. Our realtor also stopped by several times while the house was being built and was impressed with the quality and workmanship. Watching the house come together we could hardly wait until it was finished and we could move in.
There were no surprises, no disappointments, and no delays. The house was completed when we were told it would be completed and Bruce delivered a very solid, well built, beautiful home that we will enjoy for many years to come. We met Bruce Smith through his mother in law whose house he remodeled, and were very delighted with his workmanship. He took us to two other houses he had recently built (one was vacate which allowed us the opportunity to see the house fully and admire the detailing and features; and the other house was occupied but we were able to take a look at the exterior and identify features we desired in their own home). After seeing his craftsmanship, we decided to let him design a plan for our lot size. The plan he designed was similar to the vacate house which we loved.

“Go Greyhound and Leave the Driving to Us” is the familiar theme of the greyhound bus company. Well a few years ago, our experience in doing business with Bruce Smith of JK Smith Builders could be summed up in a similar way. “Go with JK Smith Builders and Leave the Building to Them.” My husband and I decided to build several rental properties. We had very little experience with taking on a project of this nature. As a result, we made sure that we did our homework first. We knew that the majority of our projects would be done in the City of Cayce where we had acquired some land. We went to the city building inspector and asked for the names of the top builders in the Cayce area. Bruce Smith, of JK Smith Builders was at the top of the list. We gave him a call, went to see some of his work, and were extremely impressed. Mr. Smith showed us several rental units that he had built for himself.
